What is the relationship between the act of hearing and the act of being heard? How can we hear a voice that produces no sound?

Tuning in – Acoustique de l’émotion is an innovative new exhibition that explores the links between voices, heritage and humanitarian action, drawing on the audio archives and collections of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum. Contemporary recordings, posters, photographs and prisoners’ objects feature alongside historical artworks and new productions by Manal AlDowayan, Betty Danon, Marco Donnarumma, Gregor Hildebrandt, William Kentridge, Christine Sun Kim and Thomas Mader, Piero Mottola, Julia Scher, and Dana Whabira.

The exhibition is curated by Elisa Rusca.

For those who prefer to visit the museum on their own, we offer an audio-guide tour of the permanent exhibition in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese or Russian.

Our volunteer guides are happy to welcome you and introduce you to our temporary exhibition. The visit lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour (maximum 30 people per guide).

A period of 10 working days is required to assign a guide. It may happen that no guide is available at the requested time. In this case, we will inform you within the same period.
